What are Virtual Visits?
Virtual Visits are a safe and convenient way to receive medical care with a provider. These appointments are typically shorter than an in-person visit and can be done from the convenience of your home or office. While we are mostly using telephone-based virtual visits, we plan to increase offerings for video based-visits in the future.
What type of concerns are best for Virtual Visits?
The most common concerns seen in virtual care are
- upper respiratory infections (common cold)
- stomach issues (nausea, diarrhea)
- back and joint pain
- urinary tract infections
Virtual Visits are also great for follow-up on labs and radiology studies as well as medication adjustments. Once we have our video option up and running, common skin complaints would also be safely evaluated through a Virtual Visit.
What types of concerns should not be seen through a Virtual Visit?
Any concerns that require a hands-on examination are not suitable for Virtual Visits. Any complaints of chest pain or shortness of breath should be evaluated in person.
When are Virtual Visits available?
Virtual Visits are available during our regular operating hours from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. , Monday through Friday, but we have appointment times available over the lunch hour as well to add an extra layer of convenience for our patients.
